1-2-1 ADVICE SESSIONS  

We are pleased to offer a number of 1-2-1 advice sessions for filmmakers and film industry professionals during the Berlinale. Please see below for details on what is available and how to book. Sessions last around 30 minutes.

The UK and the EU

The BFI’s External Affairs team is working to provide information and clarity to filmmakers and industry professionals on how Brexit might affect the screen sector. We are pleased to offer 1-2-1 sessions for any filmmaker or industry professional seeking advice on key issues including the movement of people and equipment, Creative Europe funding and co-production. Tax Relief, certification and producing films and television in the UK  

The BFI Certification Unit is the first point of contact for accessing the UK’s Creative Sector Tax Reliefs for film, high-end television, animation, programmes, children’s TV and video games. We are available to discuss projects in relation to the creative sector tax reliefs for film, high-end television, animation television, children’s television and/or video games. The sessions are open to UK and international producers to offer advice and guidance on the qualifying processes for the cultural tests and official co-production treaties for the tax reliefs. Please note, we do not offer advice on qualifying for BFI Film Funding.

The British Film Commission
 (BFC) is the national agency with a remit to maximise and support the production of international feature film and television in the UK. We can offer international filmmakers guidance on producing film and TV in the UK, including advice on the UK tax reliefs, regional and national funding, studios, locations, VFX and post facilities, and crew.

Sessions with the BFI Certification Unit and the BFC last around 30 minutes, see below for dates and times. When booking, please advise whether you require a session with a representative from the BFI Certification Unit or BFC.
