UK films and co-pros in official selection at Cannes Film Festival 2019
Three years after I, Daniel Blake took the highest accolade at Cannes, veteran director Ken Loach returns to the Festival with regular collaborators Paul Laverty and Rebecca O’Brien to premiere UK/Belgium/French co-production Sorry We Missed You in competition. Also competing for the Palme d’Or is UK/Austrian/German co-pro Little Joe (pictured above) from Austrian director Jessica Hausner.
Asif Kapadia (Senna, Amy) will present his new documentary Diego Maradona about legendary footballer Diego Armando Maradona out of competition, alongside director Dexter Fletcher’s much-anticipated film Rocketman which stars Taron Egerton as celebrated icon Elton John.
